Terephthalylidene Dicamphor Sulfonic Acid (also known as Mexoryl SL) is a water-soluble white or off-white powder. It has excellent solubility in water and polar solvents, making it a gold-standard filter for lightweight, high-performance sunscreens.
As a chemical sunscreen agent, it primarily absorbs ultraviolet light in the UVA and UVB bands (290-320nm). It converts absorbed light energy into harmless heat energy, protecting the skin from radiation-induced damage.
